  2. What exactly does the term “mounted” mean? Does it mean adding a frame? If so what kind of frame is it? If it’s wood, what type of wood is it? I’m curious of the quality. I’m thinking of buying a mounted St Ignatius icon with a stand for my parish priest. As a priest he must already have a lot of iconic stuff. Thank you, Jack

  3. Mounted means that the icon is glue-mounted on a piece of wood, in this case half inch piece of wood (thicker on the custom sizes) with the edge beveled and painted. The back is keyholed for hanging. Usually the wood is MDF fiberboard.
